Derived from Latin, the title of this invitational Public Arts exhibition, Veritas Magnus vis Microscopia, draws inspiration from the seminal Magna Morali, an ancient treatise on ethics attributed to Aristotle. This text serves as a cornerstone for our understanding of truths and morality throughout history. It outlines the fundamental principles by which a society can ethically function, offering a comprehensive framework that transcends disciplinary boundaries, rooted in liberal arts philosophies.
Through the lens of microscopy, we are granted access to the hidden truths and intricate beauty concealed within the microcosms that evade the naked eye. The exhibition's title, translated as "The truth is a great power of microscopy," encapsulates our endeavor to illuminate the unseen wonders of our environment, magnified into the public sphere through innovative projection techniques. In magnifying these concealed worlds, we aim to unveil the inherent beauty and undeniable truths that underscore our collective responsibility as stewards of Earth.
As you engage with the artwork, we invite you to contemplate how each individual and society as a whole can better fulfill our role as caretakers of this planet, ensuring the well-being of current and future generations. Scannable QR codes positioned at the exhibition site lead to the online aspects. Additional insights can be found through the exploration of profiles that represent the scientists and artists whose work is on view. You can also connect directly to their webpages and instagram accounts by clicking on their images to learn more about them and their work.
What revelations await when we approach the unseen with curiosity and wonder? What transformations occur when we deepen our appreciation for the sacredness of our environment and embrace our duty as custodians of this precious planet? Join us on this journey of exploration and introspection as we delve into the hidden realms revealed by the power of microscopy.
